They don’t need to understand and then serve a reasonable response. They just need to identify a noun. “Siri, what channel is Nbatv on direct tv?” And “Siri, does direct tv work on cloudy days” are hard to answer but not hard for Algos to determine what ads to show.

Sorry it's not available yet but on the page they mention the issue "Why do ads feel like they are directed to you, personally?" I really think they dont have much to gain from listening when they have your browsing data via the like buttons, fb, whatsapp, IG, audience partners

Disagree with that. Gmail reads all your text and delivers ads based on that. Why isn't listening to what I say on my phone the same?

Plus I've seen some shit where some very big companies do some very dirty things for a very longgggg time and no one says a peep.
