Don’t know but poor. According to Wikipedia, the reason why it was called Spanish flu was that neural Spain was the only country that didn’t suppress information about it so Spain’s situation seemed worse. As a result it was assumed to originate there.

CV is transmissible when asymptomatic ~14days, as well as in fecal matter and from bodies. Seems impossible to control spread.
