At this point China has better airports, comparable roads, better trains, better public transportation, comparable mobile telephony, and better industry. Outside our system of government, courts, and our military (for now) what’s better? We even also have Wuhan coronavirus!
Per capita GDP is 5-6 times China's? Better industry - you might be said to be 70% right.
We have good software that we export, oil and other natural resources that are in short supply in China, and an inflated world reserve currency. These things explain the difference in GDP but not the sense of development you get from going to China from the US.
