I remember once reading an article about how doctors were often excellent targets for shady financial schemes because their skill in one area made them think they were skillful in all. I see the same qualities in venture capitalists and tech engineer founder types.

You're wrong. You basically cannot run a successful company without having a familiarity with "shady financial schemes" because company compliance and employee theft is a problem. You're the one who doesn't get it. You look up dunning-kruger effect.

I would not call Enron, WeWork, or Madoff successful and anyone with common sense knows that those are exceptions, not the rule.
