You’ll probably be fine, but doing this type of thing may bar you from all sorts of jobs and govt programs you may not know about. Not saying this is reasonable but doing something as innocuous as this may even be against us law. As an example, I was seeking a business relocation

Incentive in a smaller Texas town and there was a law in the Texas legislature saying that I couldn’t be eligible if I was doing business with Iran!

If you're an American citizen you should probably think twice about going to Iran right now. Doesn't mean you shouldn't go, just think twice. I say this as someone who loves adventure and risk-seeking

for a Chinese trading company based there. I think I cold called Iranian distributors of mining parts they had met at a trade show in Russia. Didn't make the sale, but small world.
