I think your testosterone and finance hypotheses are interesting, tho I think the decline in engineers is more of a symptom than a cause. I am 100% on all four of these categories. Like them a lot. Here are some other reasons why entrepreneurship is falling: 1. Death of mom-and-pop brick and mortar retail 2. Internet leads to winner-take-all dynamics outmoding some local entrepreneurship, i.e.pic.twitter.com/XtrWyiUlrx

death of the local printer to Vistaprint or Uber wiping out local taxi services 3. Competition from foreigners who can compete in the USA from home with a cost advantage.
