      The economic development of China partly justifies their lack of free speech. In America, while I can say almost anything without breaking the law (no “fire” in movie theatre or incenting violence), saying certain things makes me unemployable which is almost as bad as prison.

      You’re wrong about that. Don’t equate being thrown into a black jail for dissing Xi Jinping with getting fired from a very liberal company for saying that men and women are different. Also, this is an aberration in American history. 10 years ago in the us, speech was more free.

      Nah and then there are two channels, legal and ex-legal. I’m a big believer in free speech but I shouldn’t be able to yell fire in a movie theatre without consequences or tell my twitter followers to kill someone.
