When I think about lawsuits I think about two things: 1. Liability, i.e. was something done wrong? 2. Damages, i.e. if something was done wrong, what was the harm? I think "pedo guy" has suffered damages. I'll always think of him as "pedo guy", and I'm sure he suffered some abuse from Musk's overzealous cultists. I wouldn't want to go through what he did and be forced into litigation to clear my name.

We don't know the counterfactual scenario where Musk didn't brand him "pedo guy". He might have made a lot more money. It's unlikely all this attention has helped him in any way.
