No idea, but we put a lot more money into Iraq and Mexico would definitely be easier to handle. I thought but more about legalization drugs and Xanax. First I don’t think Xanax is a good exemplar. It’s habit forming but as addictive as OxyContin or other legal painkillers.
So I think a better question is: how many people has Oxy killed? I don’t know but it’s probably not insignificant and then of course oxy is a gateway drug for heroin. How many people has heroin killed? Finally what about fentanyl? It’s so deadly that skin contact can kill you.

The question isn’t how many died from oxy but how many died from the oxy trade? I doubt it’s very many. The monetary incentive from the illegal drug trade is the reason for the vast majority of death

I think it’s both. If you legalized Heroin it’d be more widely available and this would might create more death than legalizing the trade would reduce.
