Unfortunately humans don’t look at global phenomena. They only care about progress versus their neighbour and for the average westerner it hasn’t been great.

Over the past 30 years the mean has increased vs its neighbors. The median has been stable. The problem in the US, is not what you said, but instead the declining purchase power or wages relative to education, housing, and healthcare.

Right, and the median is all that matters. Stagnated median income growth has fuelled populism across the west.
