      Policy makers would still want a U.S. ally there if U.S. troops leave. Got to (1) keep tabs on Iran and Pakistan (2) protect U.S. Afghanistan economic-related interests. Which ally to try to get to substitute us? India? Israel? Japan? Saudi Arabia?
