This is probably one thing that US politically does much better than China.
I don’t know much about how Chinese politics works, but America already ha broken up. That’s the point of the states, which to me, seem to have much greater autonomy than the provinces of China. US states seem to be more different than Chinese provinces.

I do wish the states had much more autonomy than they currently do. The power of the states at this point in time is really limited to taxes and regulation, which is one of the reasons why the Southern states are growing so quickly.

The US was never really “together” regionalism is still alive and well. People just get confused because someone from Iowa and Alabama are both white, but have completely different cultural heritage.
