Thinking about buying Uber. I have some questions: 1. Can someone develop a kayak like app to price compare Lyft and Uber 2. Do smaller cities in the US only sustain one ride hailing service? 3. Has Uber started doing promos that the more a customer spends with Uber, the better

1. Probably, but why would they? It's really easy to compare the price of Uber and Lyft. It takes like 10 extra secs. I doubt a Kayak-like app would be successful b/c the comparison variables between Uber and Lyft are so few, unlike airlines/hotels.

I think you’re overestimating the average person. To do what you said: 1. Open app 2. Type address 3. Drop pin 4. Wait 5. Remember 3-4 digit price and time to pickup Do it again Compare time to pickup and price. Decide. Impossible when you’re late/rushing

I don't know a single person who doesn't price compare. Even to save 30 cents

Hmm not sure. But yea, their edge really limited. Imo, most is way weaker than ups /FedEx. Those time definite/ground networks took decades and billions to build. You can start a ride share tomorrow if u want in a smaller city with say 100m

Disagree with your last point, I think. 1. Who’s going to give you 100mm for undifferentiated ride share in a smaller city? 2. Uber and Lyft can locally cut prices and kill you Uber may not be a good buy at this price and Lyft may ultimately win out but this is likely a duopoly

Oh yeah, all the tertiary apps like Juno are going bust.
