I am not a fan of coal, but much coal burnt in China before supply-side reforms ~2016 was water-logged brown coal. Burns very dirty. Dongfang/Shanghai/Harbin Electric have all stolen quality technology and now make cleaner boilers and Shenhua’s better coal is more of the mix.
