DC's subway looks like Montreal's. Unsurprisingly they were both built in the 60s. Unlike Montreal's, which has tired cars, dc is a standard rail system.pic.twitter.com/RBueOnzOU7

Definitely cleaner. I don’t think it’s better. I don’t take the NY subway that often, but while it’s definitely filthy beyond imagination I’ve never experienced the sort of service breakdowns I see in Boston and DC.

The worst part of NYC subway is MTA just didn't care about the appearance of station anymore. Understanding that they have to fix up 80 yrs old signals, I can't complain.
