I heard that the lack of investment and slow localization of management teams contributed to the failure of many foreign firms. Possible?
Of course possible, but given that there are numerous successful american tech companies in other countries where this would've been a problem, but none in China, it shows that this wasn't the core issue.

Many of my friends worked in American companies indicated another: they don't promote Chinese as CEO of greater China. Always droppban expat who didn't care to know Chinese market for its uniqueness.
