How much would it cost to recycle them? If it's cheap enough, it could make sense from a brand perspective.
Yes, at the very least, it would be wise to not tweet about us wasting the plastic. We completely recycled the contents (90% of the product by weight). The cost of recycling them is the cost of shipping to a recycler. $100 minimum plus time and headache.

With all the respect to your decision, as you are not managing an Nonprofit. You pay a million to Amazon (if remember right) but can't pay $100 for the shipping to a recycler. I would respect you far more if you do it

You don't even have to consider the headache or the time invested. It is just something you have to do. Write somewhere afterwards: we recycle all our plastik waste haha in your website
