Yesterday I was overcharged $800 at a restaurant, more than double the correct bill. This happens all the time across multiple industries. Why? - Americans can't do math? - Non-confrontational culture and fear of bargaining encourages overbilling? - Laziness? - Dishonesty?

I think it happens but maybe less often and you don't have these social games attached to it. Like if you catch them they pretend it was a mistake and that's it.
It's interesting that the world's MVP country for the past 100 years can have these pockets of stupidity yet still succeed in so many areas. Just need to get the main things right I guess.
