Universal basic income (UBI) sucks. We all get 24 hours, every single day, for years. If a person can't figure out how to trade that time for a living, or if they choose not to, giving them $1000 every month will only exacerbate their problems.
Until a competing landlord, restaurant, taxi service etc. realizes they can cut prices to win market share and a new equilibrium price is reached based on supply and demand. What I'm saying is that it can't work like so way without collusion amongst suppliers.

I’m afraid I disagree. Look at prices in high income towns like NYC versus low income towns. With UBI everybody has an extra $1k. In our free market, prices are bid until clear w highest bidder. Not going to change demand or supply.
