Dirt poor but it could feed itself right? The closing of factories all over the U.S. certainly sent quite a few Americans into poverty. If not, China who else?
So then, if I'm wrong, there must be another country that created more extreme poverty than China. Which is it? Cambodia? USSR? UK?

How India? My point was technical more than it was insightful. China is the biggest, most everything because of the number of people in the country.
