Who is this bad for? Other than the manufacturer... perhaps CPG shouldn't be getting high-teens operating margins. Consumer wins.

It's good for consumers and good for Amazon. Maybe it's bad for suppliers but

That said, I think it's disingenuous to portray it as Amazon magic, generosity, or operational know-how. They're just squeezing their suppliers. That's a blade that cuts both ways in the long run.
