The taxation of lawsuit settlement/judgement income doesn't make sense. If you incur $100k in damages and are paid out $100k, you still lose $37k. *personal injury case income isn't taxed.

What you get isn't taxed, so are you trying to apply the cost of the lawyer as a loss to your other income?

I thought personal injury rewards were taxable so I was trying to apply the lawyer's legal bills to that personal injury income.
