The issue - from American lense - is people don’t even know what they don’t even know...how mainland China is presently more entrepreneurial than Hong Kong. The language of Hong Kong is Guangdong hua , NOT putonghua.. two languages as similar as Spanish/Portuguese . Etc etc

I'm not sure if Hong Kong is less entrepreneurial than China. I'd say instead that there is more economic optimism in China than there is in Hong Kong and that the entrepreneurial spirit of both regions is roughly the same.

In Hong Kong, the entire economy and society seems designed around catering to the property tycoons. Financial services, legal services, etc. In China, there is a far more can do attitude about making your own pie, and if not happy, then moving somewhere within China to do so
