Kuaishou and Douyin are a different service though. Youku and Tudou are China's true youtube equivalent and AFAIK they do have monopolistic market share. Hulu's in business because they have content. Netflix has more, but Hulu has stuff Netflix doesn't, period.

Yeah, I agree that the business models are different. I was trying to figure out why. I think that it's a combination of first sale doctrine (right to resell goods) and content producers having too much power - see the rest of my chain. I attempt to explain it.
