I'm buying health insurance for my family. The cheapest plan has a max out of pocket cost of $14,700 plus $5,400 of yearly premiums. It effectively costs $21,100 to have a child.

Haha, you mean it should cost more? As I understand it, that's not the way the insurance is structured but I'm totally new to this. I've never really had health expenditures before.
