It's hard to say. Some general thoughts on Ikea: 1. Go to the store, you will find products made in every single country. I think they do this for political reasons (as they have stores in almost every country) 2. Maybe America is a free economy that doesn't need this.

3. The way Ikea furniture is sold, you do not need to make it domestically, unlike most other furniture. In other words, you can import it all from China to wherever without significantly increasing cost. Realizing that this is pretty relevant to Wayfair haha

Maybe it's possible they realized that the USA is a free economy so they don't need a plant here, or they'll just buy from a manufacturer from here. I don't know. We should consider reading Ingvar Kamprad's book (?)
