My father was an entrepreneur. Unfortunately, just as I was leaving college, he was leaving life. So, while he was able to set an example for me to follow, he wasn't able to help me along the way (besides the privileges his success gave me).
After about 2 years of struggling to found a profitable business on my own, I participated in a startup competition. My presentation slides said I was looking for mentorship. A retired executive e-mailed me after my presentation. That was 2012. I've been learning from him since.
