I will pose a business riddle for you! Why does Uline make free items such a prominent part of the warehouse supply ordering process? How it works (not why): the more money you spend, the better quality the free item you get.pic.twitter.com/Q8ReRt74TF

It's the same for a lot of seller of office supplies also. It's a bribe for the person with the power to choose the supplier / make the order, that will not go in the books :)

Also the top 1% users of cashback services (ebates,....) are often office managers

You got it, nice job. It's not just a bribe to use the distributor, but it's also an effective bribe to increase the amount ordered so that their "gift" is greater. "I didn't want to run out" is a wonderful excuse for why you have a brand new backpack or tumbler.

🏆 ☺️ Yep it's also the same incentive for smb owner to have a corporate Amex and to use the points for personal benefits

I wouldn't equate them. The small business owner may just be avoiding taxes, whereas the employee is not doing their job by overordering and spending more than is necessary so that they can get personal benefits. Different.

I think they are only "anticipating" a little too much, I dont think the incentive is enough to have them order a substantial amount just to receive a cooler. They most of the time make way much with cashback or http://hotels.com  rewards.
