With how sticky housing is, cities that seem overpriced and overhyped can be excellent investments. For example, everyone loves Boulder, CO. With how most jobs are structured, it will take a long time for the population who wants to move there to get there.

I know Boulder is way above the American mean, but, depending on how you look at it (think of the value Boulder offers, or its prices relative to California), it's underpriced.
