I'm going through applications for a job I posted and it's so overwhelming. Is there a good way to sort through applicants without using intuition?

Is it straight resume pile, or something with some personalization? I've had an apartment listed for the last couple weeks, and my first-pass filter is trying to filter out if the person even read the listing or is shotgunning based on the headline...

Something with a bit of personalization. Yeah in the end you just end up throwing out every resume with a typo that is not customized for the position.

I've had interviews that placed me in mock-up real-world situations for the position and judged me on merits they viewed fit for the company.
