According to my research, China REO reserves are about 40-50x the United States (though I don't believe that).
I don’t know about reserves, but in my area of Colorado, mines stay ready to reopen when prices are right. We have these rare earths here
Right, analogous situation in steel industry. At first, I didn't understand how tariffs could benefit the industry - why build a new plant in response to a temporary tariff? Well the plants are just dormant, ready to restart quite quickly.
