If you are solopreneur, you must be able to both build and sell. I'm not sure these are hire-able skills at the startup level. If you can't do both or can't learn to do both, get a partner.

I think at times the building is the easier of the two. For guys like Billy McFarland of Fyre Festival, it was easier to sell, than to build
Almost everyone who can build can learn to sell. People who can sell, I believe in my heart, can learn to build, but why learn to build when you can just sell a builder on building for you? Therefore, build to sell is much more common than sell to build.

Also, possible that builders brains can do both, but sellers' brains cannot also do both. That said, there are many successful salesman who later became builders. Ty of Ty stuffed animals, Schultz of Starbucks, and Kroc of McDonalds are some examples.

You also have to know what style of selling works for you. For me I was horrible at car sales when I am in the position to sell based on logic or educate I do best.
