GDP is a flawed measurement that doesn’t reflect how we are doing. I’d be thrilled to celebrate an uptick in children’s health or a decrease in drug overdoses.

Start celebrating. Drug overdoses down 3.3% and first time in years it's started falling. AND less than 5% of children don't have insurance. Hopefully a basic income doesn't destroy progress in these areas.

To what do you attribute the drug overdose fall? Have all the druggies just died already?

No, Trump admin increased available Naloxone by 35% making easier to get for families and public places as a precaution while reducing opioid prescriptions for non severe acute pain (where it doesn't work). Also increasing available treatment

They fast tracked generic and nasal versions so easier and cheaper to administer and store while reducing the bureaucratic hurdles to getting it.

That's great - this is a complex subject, but prima facie I'd love to see generic drugs go through the FDA on an accelerated basis.
