If you don't have experience in an industry you really need to be careful with who you follow. There are a ton of absolutely terrible takes floating around on all sorts of shit. Sounds good, but it's just wrong.

For example, academics, particularly those who are all theoretical (with minimal business experience outside of consulting gigs) are terribly guilty of this. They will fill your head up with so much garbage if you let them.

More like for academia/experts. Gell-mann is focused on journalism. I think it's equally true for academics and supposed experts.
