For me it was helpful that most of my old friends and family are not in tech (medicine, hr/management, chemistry). I think this is not the norm for tech people. Same goes for reading.
This may be true, I'm not sure, I have to think about it. To me the more interesting question is what we can all do to have more interesting ideas i.e.: Traveling, meeting you new people, visiting new places where you already are (water treatment plant, neighborhood x), books..
