Something I think about a lot: at my former PE firm a colleague was COS to one of the founders and was leaving to go to business school. He told the founder that he’d love to come back after graduation, and the Founder replied “Don’t. At this place, the money has been made.”
I don't know what COS stands for, but it's possible he was offended that he'd leave for business school to begin with. IMHO, if you already have a job at a PE firm, going to business school doesn't make much sense.

Chief of Staff, and it is expected to be two and out at most PE firms.

Ah, that type of just out of school analyst for 2 years, then business school position? My buddy did that and then instead of him going to b-school, they just made him a VP http://fflpartners.com/our-team/derek-weiss …
