Being exposed to socialism or communism is like getting a flu shot. It inoculates you to the full blown disease. Seems to be working well for Cubans in Miami!

Not sure about this analogy. Cubans in Miami are those who fled from communism (similarly to Eastern Europeans in USA). Those who didn't mind stayed (along with those couldn't escape). There are a lot of people who were exposed and nostalgic but they don't show up in your sample.
