1. EVs are experiencing linear adoption.
2. Autonomous vehicles seem increasingly far away.
3. Renewable electricity doesn't seem inexpensive.
...renewables require back-up power generation because of our inability to get batteries to work. Nuclear is cheapest and everyone is against it. 4. Ride-hailing apps don't seem to be reducing the overall miles travelled. Also, Africa, India, and SEA are coming online.
I don't know shit about this but... All this could be quite bullish for the price of oil.
another issue with renewables is you can't really scale them up to support large countries. if i was a country leader i would make a bet in developing nuclear technology and make huge returns in a few decades when 100s of millions of people can't breathe and demand electricity
Gotta be mindful of the risks of nuclear, but I agree...unless you have ample hydroelectric (which scales pretty well I think?).
