I would say that if an author was tasked with creating a "crazy entrepreneur" character, it would look like very much like me. I would also say that VCs and Angels say they want these types, but in reality, they don't fund them. I applied to YC, fwiw.

These are the type of people who get funding and, perhaps compared to the regular population, they are "crazy" for starting a VC funded startup that gives them a salary, but in my eyes they're pretty conformist. I think that most of MDS would struggle to get funding.

Agree 100%. I didn't mean that the businesses of MDS wouldn't get funding (to your point, while profitable and growing fast, they don't have VC-level growth). I meant that the people are semi-incompatible.
