The usa, notwithstanding the Iraq war and other stupidity, is history's most peaceful dominant power. Pax americanus. China, an authoritarian and oppressive state, has not earned the right to american-style world domination. Therefore, they must be stopped.

Well, China has a long and distinguished history. I think the Chinese people are ready to accept US terms of reciprocality, openness, fairness. The problem is the CCP, one of the last dictatorships of a major country left. They need to justify their existence by being provider.

You may want to check out "how Asia works" by Joe studwell. Besides being a path forward for Ethiopia, it's relevant. It teaches that no country developed through reciprocity. China is following the playbook of American, German, South Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese development.
