25 hours into a 48 fast of water and coffee only. I am not hungry AT ALL. What happens when you do intermittent fasting is that it becomes easier. 48 hours is a easier than doing 24 hours when I first started.

I don't like fasts longer than 24 hours. After about 24 hours, I start to get really low-energy and even sort of depressed.

Molson, if you push thru it, you can actually get an energy surge. It seems as if once your sugar is depleted and you enter ketosis, an energy push is created; at least for me.

I'm on a low-carb, high-fat diet pretty much all the time. I might already be in ketosis when I start the fast? Not sure. But I definitely do not feel so good after 24 hours of no eating.

Every now and then, do a carb load to "shock your system". At least that is what I do...although I am not an expert. I have been tinkering for a few years.

I dont believe anymore that occasional 'modern' carb binges are any good.

Yes, periodically it's good to shock the system, maybe with some intense physical labor, a marathon, or too many bottles of wine... But, there's a line. It's probably not a good idea to go on a heroin or meth binge, for example. Unclear what side of the line carb loading is on.
