Just loaded some unwrapped pallets from our warehouse into a Budget truck (that was for UPS). At one point I went over a step too fast and the pallet of toys toppled over. Anyways, once I finished up I felt a great sense of satisfaction (even though I suck).
I spend most of my day on a computer, but real work, you know, get your hands dirty, dig a hole, use a truck kind of work...has a real appeal to me. As we deindustrialize our nation, we lose respect for this type of work, that is typically male and masculine.
Renovate your house if you have one yourself instead of calling a guy, if you like this stuff. Sometimes i fix pipes furnitures etc just for fun even if i know its not worth me doing it economically.
