Were it not for my (irrational?) sense of American patriotism and the differential in economic opportunity (?)... I would totally fucking live in Europe. America is a gross strip mall.

For what it's worth there is entrepreneurship in some European cities (Berlin, London, Stockholm interestingly).

What about cheaper countries, maybe cities like Tallinn (highest startup per capita so I've read) and maybe Minsk?

That could work too but there's a higher existential risk of Russia invading or the government cracking down on your business.

In Minsk, definitely. Baltic states? I'm not so sure. This is weird for an American to say, but while here ive adopted an antipathy for the Germans. Two world wars and then the Euro? Makes you wanna say "fuck those guys." Besides ideology, Russia has not done such harm.

Lol, the ideology didn't come from Russians, Karl Marx was German too. But no, the Russians have been interfering in Eastern European countries forever using military. Hungary wanted out of communism in 56 and Czech in 68.

Even before that a Hungarian revolution against Austria was defeated only after the Russians sent troops in 1849.

Poland regularly sides with Germany against Russia despite hating them because of the Nazi occupation. I could go on and on but you get the idea :)
