Second, at many schools, not joining a fraternity basically means you struggle socially (for a whole host of reasons). Intelligence is important in success, but so is being able to socialize and get along with others.

A lot of people want to paint this as the power of privilege (fraternity dues can be expensive), but, I don't think that's right. Finally, and I'm not alone in this, you learn more about life in the fraternity than you do in class. So, yeah, if you're in a fraternity you're probably a straight white guy, but there are other reasons why fraternity membership correlates with success.
