It's always valuable to spend some time among regular people - something I think that many of the Ivy League & Stanford types that go off to run the world don't ever really do. There are a lot of dumb people out there. They're not bad people, but they aren't the sharpest tools
In my experience, these people can't do math or write complete sentences but they can still "get" stuff that the Ivy Leaguers don't.
