Outsourcing influencer marketing to PR/Agencies will end up being a big mistake for brands. This space is still evolving and moving way too fast to let someone else handle something so mission critical. It's like a tech co. trying to scale using an outsourced engineering team

It's a personal opinion but it's a space I've been following for 10 years and the pace of change is incredible. It's gone from after-thought/joke/test budget to major budget priority and too many brands are throwing money at social thinking "9 women can make a baby in a month"

On the flip side, there's so many fantastic things a brand to can do to engage with their customers and build organic influencer / word-of-mouth if they had the foresight to ask their customers for their Instagram username when making an order/account

It's a massive disadvantage if a new customer makes an order and you don't know they have 50K Instagram followers or when an Instagram user leaves a comment and you have no idea they've bought $5K of product & referred another $20K.

I have a consumer brand that does quite well. We get distribution, we get advertising. We do not get this type of marketing. It is hard.
