If you read the piece, there is full attribution (with links) for the work that precedes this. The contribution here is a larger sample size for the survey, plus analysis of differences across some dimensions including gender.
I somehow get the vibe that @mjmauboussin repackages other peoples' ideas, puts a suit and happy face on them, and then sells them to people who are put off by their true originators (like Taleb). Am I wrong?
