Xinjiang? Parts of Mongolia? Invasion of Vietnam in 1980? Seizure of Indian Land in the Himalayas? Scs islands? Maybe they didn't take Korea simply because they couldn't. We're talking about a country that was dominated by an island nation one tenth its size.

No, I didn't say that. It's one example and there are others. The desire to take territory is there to my eyes, the execution is not.

I don't know the history like you do but Wikipedia says china conquered the dzhungar khanate (modern day Xinjiang). Anyways, notwithstanding foreign populations integration into han society (i.e. manchus), I agree, the Chinese do not punch above their weight in military conflicts

Courage/honor etc. are not heavily emphasized in Chinese culture and even China will be first to admit, their teamwork sucks. I mean...just look at their soccer team...
