When you engage in a business relationship with a corporation that is owned by a private equity company, think twice. Private equity companies do not care for product and are oftentimes temporary owners. They are like house-flippers but for companies.

They engage in the company equivalent of buying a house, doing some landscaping, adding a coat of paint, and then putting it back on the market. They do not fix the plumbing, they do not improve the foundation. As such, they will not hesitate to screw you, for short term gain.
