Capitalism fixed China. Trust is a big component of well-functioning capitalism. The cultural revolution killed trust. Therefore, I disagree.
I feel like I need to ask you? Why is Russia's economy so weak relative to its outsize power in world affairs? Dutch disease? Alcoholism? Lack of Chinese work ethic? All the smart jewish businessmen left (or practice crony capitalism)?

Weak property rights protection. On other hand, I don't think it is much stronger in China, if stronger at all. Alcoholism and lack of work ethic were endemic to communist regimes, which luckily we have no more (I expect convergence to eastern European averages within generation)
